Islamic Studies provides comprehensive learning program for our pupils to prepare them for life and beyond. It assists our pupils in understanding the topics thoroughly. It includes seven subjects but due to limited time, only few subjects are taught. The subjects include Aqidah and Creed, Fiqh, Seerah and life of the prophet (peace be upon him), Ta’reekh of the prophets mentioned in the Quran, Akhlaq and Aadaab.
Aqidah / Creed
In this topic pupils develop understanding of five pillars of Islam, articles of faith, understand our identity as Muslims in modern Britain and our role in the wider community as Muslims. Pupil also learn Aqidah regarding our creator Allah, his messengers, books he revealed, Akhirah, major and minor signs of Qiyamah, life after death, our purpose of existence, and this life being very temporary for the preparation of Akhirah.
Fiqh / Practical Rituals of Islam
In this subject, pupils develop understanding of five pillars of Islam, sufficient amount of Fiqh across different topics such as Purity/Taharah, theory and Practice of Salah, Sawm/Fasting, Zakah, Hajj, relationship, Marriage, celebrations, death, grieving, Halaal, Haraam, Do’s/Don’ts in Islam, and much more.
Our Islamic Studies curriculum is very comprehensive and engaging. We use An-Nasihah curriculum for our young children from age 5 to 10 years old and Safar Curriculum for our older pupils and young adults. Students are organised in their age group. Each year group is appropriately able to engage with the text of the book and discussion. This is the most enjoyed subject at KMCA School.
Seerah
This subject comprehensively covers the life of the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Pupils learn about the background of the Arabia at the time of the prophet and before him. They learn about the events that took place near his birth. They learn early life of the prophet, his immediate and extended family, his surroundings, early companions, early life in Makkah, migration to Madinah, challenges faced by the prophet and the Muslims, and how Arabia develops and changes under Islam and the prophet peace be upon him. This subject is where the students have deep dive in the life of the prophet peace be upon him.
Tarikh
In this subject, students learn and develop understanding about the prophets before prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. They learn about the prophet Adam, Nuh, Ibrahim, Musa, Isa, and other prophets and related Aqidah about the prophets and the miracles granted to them by almighty Allah to assist them. It especially covers great details regarding the birth of Isa peace be upon him and his elevation to the heavens and his return near the hour.
Akhlaq / Aadab
In this subject our pupils develop their character. See heir on impact on their own life and positive impact on wider community, world, and their immediate associates. Pupils will develop understanding of impact of positive actions and behaviour and their reward in the hereafter. They learn to contribute positively towards everyone and everything, from smiling towards fellow human beings to providing comfort and safety to everyone. Pupils learn that this is part of their faith, and it is rewarding. Pupils learn respect, cleanliness, being mindful of others and the wider world, positively nurture their actions, words, and thoughts. For details of what is taught at each level click here. Students are enrolled in the class according to their age. A five-year-old is enrolled in reception class.

The stories of Adam (as) and Nuh (as), the articles of Faith, the
importance of respect and the etiquettes of eating, drinking and
sleeping.

The second part of the Islamic Curriculum series. Key topics of
this part include; lessons on wudu' & ghusl, ahadith on kindness
to neighbours, the first revelation.
Stories of Hud (as) and Salih (as), the revealed books,
importance on keeping promises, kindness to animals and
etiquettes of greeting one another.
Complete with its very own workbook with differentiated
activities.
The third part of the Islamic Curriculum series. Key topics of this
part include; lessons on salah, ahadith on appreciation, the
migration and the journey to Talif, the stories of Ibrahim (as) and
Ismail (as).
Minor signs of Qiyamah, importance on being kind to parents
and the etiquettes of studying and reciting the Quran.

The fourth part of the Islamic Curriculum series. Key topics of
this part include; lessons on masah 'alal khuffayn, sawm, ahadith
on saying no to racism, the pledge of 'Aqabah.
Stories of Ya'qub (as) and Yusuf (as), major signs of Qiyamah,
importance of keeping trust and etiquettes of du'a'.

The fifth part of the Islamic Curriculum series. Key topics of this
part include; lessons on hajj & 'umrah, ahadith on ghibah, the
Treaty of Hudaybiyah.
Stories of Musa (as) & 'Isa (as), Jannah and Jahannam,
importance of patience and the etiquettes of social interaction.
Complete with its very own workbook with differentiated

Key topic of this part include Who is Allah, Tawheed, Shirk, Virtues of the Quran, Wudhu, Guls, Maturity, Adhan, Iqaamah, Salah drill, salah our link with Allah, Congregational Salah, and Sajdah of Sahw, and model Janazah Salah, concept of Halal and Haram.
Stories of Sulayman peace be upon him and Ishaq & Yaqoob peace be upon them. Seerah of the prophet peace upon him, battle of Humayn and Taif.
Key topic of this part include belief in Qadr through Story of Khadir and Musa peace be upon them, belief in Allah and truth of Islam.
The Qiblah, Salah in exceptional circumstances, Jumuah, Fasting and Itikaaf, Zakah, Sadaqah and adulthood.
Stories of the prophet Yusuf, Zakariya, and Isa peace upon them all.
Key topic of this part includes Contemporary issues and being Muslim today, social customs and etiquette, technology and social media, spiritual and personal development through Quran as our guide and reflecting on the journey of the soul when we depart this world.
